This week GJS Machinery launched the new gjsmachinery.com.au – the biggest change we’ve made to our website since it first went online back in 1995.
The relaunch incorporates a major visual redesign, a complete rework of navigation and searching, and a total overhaul of the website’s Shopping Cart and Checkout, as well as the inclusion of more than 1,400 products.
gjsmachinery.com.au has been online for more than 11 years and although it’s a very popular website, amongst its many successes in recent years it has become out-of-date – both in terms of its design and the level of functionality it offers to you – our customers.
So late in 2005, it was time for GJS Machinery to take a hard look at our website and decide what to do next ...
Now after over a year of extensive planning, development and testing our new website has been launched and we’re very excited!
It’s been over a year in the making but it is finally here – the all new gjsmachinery.com.au. We started with a clean slate and, using your valued feedback, redesigned it from the ground up. You asked for an easier checkout method, more product information, more images, more discounts and to combine both our websites. Well I am proud to say we have certainly delivered!
All New Design
The first thing you will notice is the all-new design. Developed to group our 4 key business areas - equipment, supplies, training and services – the new design enables the integration of our, previously separate, Screen Supplies Shop.
Navigation has been enhanced to provide users access to all the of the website’s features in the least clicks as possible – drop down menus enables quick navigation between categories.
Our website statistics and research showed that more users are now using high resolution monitors so you will notice that our site now utilises 100% of the screen size. The main body text size is no longer fixed - you now have the freedom to make it smaller or larger in your web browser. Speaking of browsers, we are happy to announce that the new design is completely compatible and enhanced for the recent release of Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2.0 as well as all other popular browsers.
You will also be happy to know that when printing from the website, the page will automatically reformat for optimal presentation!
Easier to Use
One of our favourite new additions, the X-Press functions enable you to order our screen supplies quicker than ever before.
If you know the GJS Codes of the products you are ordering, simply use the X-Press Order feature. The page will automatically validate the GJS Code and display the price before it is placed in your shopping cart. Try it for yourself! Speaking of the shopping cart, you can also add products to your cart and leave them there till you are ready to purchase.
Our regular customers will also appreciate the new X-Press Checkout feature that enables you to use your preferred delivery and payment details for a single-click checkout. It’s that easy!
Searching has been further enhanced with the ability to now search our extensive range of new and used equipment.
We’ve also taken the guess-work out of choosing a freight option, we now use your postcode and order weight and provide you with the most appropriate option.
More Discounts
Our website has always offered generous discounts to many of our Exclusive Products but we are happy to announce the inclusion of even more discounts. Our range of discounted products has now doubled with the inclusion of new quantity-based discounts. See for yourself by clicking here.
More Information
Over the coming month we will progressively upload even more information to assist you with your purchase; more brochures, more documents, more related products/links and new product images now this functionality is available.
The site is also integrated with our new accounting software to provide you with enhanced stock availability information.

Improved Existing Features
All the popular features from the previous website carry over with improvements. You can now add new equipment to your favourites list for quick quote generation and improve future retrieval.
Add frequently used addresses in your new address book to greatly improve the order process.
More Secure
Although our previous website offered highly secure checkout/booking facilities, we have made a number of improvements to the existing service by installing a dedicated secure server with our own personal security certificate – note the Thawte security seal of approval. We have also added a security ‘Question and Answer’ function for safe and quick retrieval of passwords. Your personal login details will no longer be ‘Auto Completed’ by your browser though we still provide the popular automatic login feature.
The Future
You may be thinking that we have finished for now, but you would be mistaken. We still have a number of new features to be progressively launched over the next months. Stay tuned for further website news!
