[VIDEO] Brother GTX garment printer - first look

SYDNEY, Australia - September 1, 2017

Get an exclusive first look at the new Brother GTX garment printer with the GJS team. The GTX is Brother’s fourth generation garment printer and has been rebuilt from the ground up to continue Brother’s legacy of producing high-performance textile printing solutions.

The GTX features Brother’s next generation print heads that deliver incredibly fast print speeds at a constant 1200x1200 dpi whilst maintaining one-pass printing for all print sizes. Coupled with this, the newly formulated Innobella Textile Ink produces a 30 percent wider colour gamut than the GTX’s predecessor, delivering stronger purples, blues and pinks ― and with a new maximum print size of 40.64 x 53.54cm, the GTX has the largest print area of any Brother DTG printer ever.

The GTX production workflow is made faster by the inclusion of 800mb of onboard memory that allows the operator to store up to 100 designs in the printer itself, negating the need for a PC or USB device in instances where designs are repeated. The display has also been updated to full-colour and gives the operator visibility as to exactly where the design will be printed on the garment, minimising errors and wastage.

Maintenance gets a boost with the Brother GTX thanks to a new, inbuilt circulation system that keeps the white ink in suspension, matched with a new wet capping station, at no stage is it necessary to clean the surface of the print heads. The new self-maintenance feature also means there is less manual maintenance of the machine, improving print head and part longevity. The newly formulated Innobella Textile Inks are water-based, Okeo-Tex Eco-Passport certified, CPSIA compliant and the innovative new replaceable ink pouches use less plastic, making the entire system more environmentally friendly.
