How Customised Printing Has Changed Quaint Quambatook

With a population of 360 people, it wouldn’t exactly be described as ‘bustling,’ but like so many small regional towns, its general store, in this case also the licenced post office, is the epicentre of commerce.

What is surprising about Quambatook however, is its thriving customised print market, with all creations being designed, printed and sold in the LPO with a desktop dye sublimation solution from GJS.

LPO licencee Chelle Espagne purchased the Quambatook general stores after many years of service in the Army.

Chelle has a strong emotional connection to the site where the LPO current stands, with her grandparents having met at the general stores decades earlier.

After attending the 2015 Melbourne LPO Expo, Chelle purchased a GJS desktop dye sublimation solution based on its ability to do customised, one-off print products.

Prior to this Chelle had been forced to purchase promotional products for the LPO in much larger quantities and often found that she had leftover stock on the shelf – a clear waste of money.

“On any given day we can be printing a farewell gift for the teacher at the local primary school, trophies for the bowling club, or mugs for Quambatook Tractor Pull,” Chelle said.

“It is absolutely amazing how this simple printing solution has changed our LPO, and indeed our town.

“I now have grandmothers walk into the store and show me a picture of their grandchildren, on their phone and a few minutes later they can be walking out the door with that image on a customised mug.

Quambatook LPO is also assisting its sister LPO in Boort by supplying it with stock. It then supplies products to homewares and gift shops in neighbouring towns.
