Lil Green Rhino's owner, Jenna, chats to GJS about how the business got started, what she loves about being a small business owner and how its fits her lifestyle, and advice for anyone also wanting to go for it!

Lil Green Rhino is a company I started nine years ago when I had my first son. I was on maternity leave, so I had some free time. I've always liked giving personalised products. So I decided to give it a go myself and bought some machinery. I started with embroidery, and towels as the first thing I did. And then I bought some printing equipment because I was sort of limited with embroidery.

So, I started digital printing, started at markets, and made personalised pillows. And then I've moved online recently to get a wider audience. What I really love about running my own business is that I can pick and choose when I can print, around my kids.

I have trouble standing for long periods of time, so I can break up my day where I need to. Yeah, I am my own boss and the person I answer to. Yeah, so that's what I really do like about running my own business. I use a range of different technologies to produce my products here at Little Green Rhino.

The two major ones that I use are direct-to-fabric printing and dye sublimation. So I have the Brother GTX printer and then the Sawgrass sublimation printer. Brother DTG has always been a part of Lil Green Rhino. I started off with a GT3, which I used for three or four years, and I've just upgraded to the Brother GTX Pro, because it just offers so much more than what I had with the GT3.

I use it for everything cotton, I love T-shirts and pillows. Pillowcases, anything cotton based. I think personalised products, just give that extra bit of something special to the gift that you're giving. I love giving my kids' friends presents. It's one that I always
find that they keep a lot of the time because it's something that they can relate to, I think a lot. Bit of pride to the name.

Yeah. It's been such a pleasure dealing with GJS, I feel anytime I ring, someone firstly always gives me a phone call back, always happy to help every time I ring. I feel like they care about my business a lot. I've been to a lot of other places that really just, somebody may, yeah, there's been some terrible experiences, so I feel like GJS is always someone I'm happy to ring or take phone calls from.

So yeah, the advice I'd give someone who's looking to purchase a Brother DTG is to go for it. Since I've had it, it's been, the amount that you can do is, the sky's the limit, there are so many products you can make on them. It's made my business so much easier and quicker. Yeah, I loved it.

The future for Lil Green Rhino looks really bright, I just wanna keep making products for people to give, I love seeing customers give my products to people and hear how much people love 'em, so, I wanna keep making them, and hopefully add more printing technology to the business. I'd love to get a UV printer, so hopefully that's next.
