Delays to orders and deliveries

SYDNEY, Australia - October 5, 2021

GJS is advising all its customers to allow even more additional time when placing orders and for deliveries as we enter the busy Christmas gift-giving season due to delays caused by COVID-19, increased volume and industrial action.

As we prepare for another Christmas season impacted by COVID-19, it's important to be prepared for an exceptionally busy peak period and higher than usual parcel volumes this festive season resulting from an increase in online shopping, existing delays caused by COVID-19 and possible further industrial action.

Our freight partners Australia Post and Star Track are already experiencing exceptional parcel volumes with Australia Post suspending parcel pick-up services in Melbourne until it can deal with the backlog in its distribution centres. Below is a photo from its facility in Sunshine, Victoria, that illustrates the gravity of the situation:

As they have done previously, both Australia Post and StarTrack will be placing additional vehicles on the road and standing up extra personnel to help alleviate congestion on the network and deal with the increased volume of packages being sent and delivered at this time of year.

Whilst these delays are out of our control, GJS recommends that all its customers take some time to do some forward planning for the coming months and order ahead and in advance for any essential items, such as consumables, that might be needed during the coming months to ensure your print operations can continue uninterrupted.
