Delays to orders and deliveries - 2020
SYDNEY, Australia - October 2, 2020
GJS is advising all its customers to allow even more additional time when placing orders and for deliveries as we enter the busy Christmas gift-giving season due to delays caused by COVID-19 and maritime industrial action.
As we prepare for what will be a Christmas like no other in living memory, it's important to be prepared for an exceptionally busy peak-period and higher than usual parcel volumes this festive season resulting from an increase in online shopping, existing delays caused by COVID-19 and maritime industrial action that is already affecting Australian ports.
Our freight partners Australia Post and Star Track are already experiencing exceptional volumes and are adding more vehicles to accommodate the unprecedented influx of parcels.
GJS is already experiencing delays with sea freight shipments arriving into Australia in the coming weeks and several suppliers are also reporting delays and shortages of various products including consumables such as ink, cleaning cartridges and other items.
Whilst these delays are out of our control, GJS recommends that all its customers take some time to do some forward planning for the coming months and order ahead and in advance for any essential items, such as consumables, that might be needed during the coming months to ensure your print operations can continue uninterrupted.
